SAiF Society Congratulates New Board Chair
Thomas Holmes is a resident of St. Albert and a registered psychologist in private practice. Thomas has 15 years of experience in education as an inclusive education teacher, school counsellor, principal and associate superintendent. Thomas was recognized for his work in mental health through Edmonton’s Top 40 under 40 in 2017. In 2018, Thomas transitioned from education into private practice and currently supports First Nations communities in northern Alberta by ensuring they have access to quality mental health services. His work includes learning more about indigenous ways of knowing and healing alongside western ways of knowing to create a system of support he calls a “two-eyed seeing” approach.
Over the past three years, Thomas has served on the Clinical Advisory Committee for SAiF and joined the Board officially last Spring. Thomas is taking on the role of Board Chair and is excited to work alongside the Board supporting the important services SAiF provides to St. Albert. Please join us in welcoming Thomas as our new Board Chair. If you know him, expect a donation request in the coming weeks and months!
