SAiF Society Job Postings
Family Therapist and Groups Facilitator
The Family Therapist and Groups Facilitator is a part-time position. While this position is grant funded and therefore subject to review, the SAiF society has an extensive track record of successfully funding ongoing positions. Hours are mostly late afternoons, evenings, and the occasional weekend to best meet the needs of clients, as well as to attend regular case conferencing and clinical supervision. This role offers an hourly rate of $40-45/hr for therapy and group facilitation and does not currently include a benefits package. View the full job posting here.
Our mission at SAiF is to end domestic violence and abuse, fostering safe and healthy relationships through support, education, and advocacy. We are committed to providing trauma-informed care and empowering survivors, their children, and those impacted by abuse to heal and reclaim their lives.
We are also committed to fostering a supportive, open and inclusive work environment, and we recognize that positive workplace culture plays an essential role in staff experiences and satisfaction. You will work with a small multidisciplinary team with regular opportunities for consultation and weekly clinical supervision/case conferencing, and we provide the opportunity for provisional psychologists to receive no cost, in-house clinical supervision as part of their employment.
We welcome applications from those traditionally underrepresented, such as members of Black, racialized or visible minority communities, Indigenous Peoples, people identifying as 2SLGBTQ+, and people with disabilities. If we can be more accommodating in the recruitment process, please contact us at mark@saifsociety.ca.
SAiF Society Volunteer Postings
Board Volunteers
Our volunteer Board of Directors is comprised of local community members invested in SAiF’s programs and success. They provide governance, oversight, and strategic direction to the organization. A dedicated group, they serve 2- and 3-year terms and meet year-round.
Board members are expected to attend regular board meetings, participate on committees, attend major SAiF events, and support fundraising activities.
Currently, we are looking to enhance our Board with the following individuals:
- Accounting and finance professionals
- First responders (present/past)
- Community-minded business owners/professionals
If you are interested we would love to hear from you! To learn more about Board member roles and how to apply, email mark@saifsociety.ca.
Clinical Advisory Committee
Our Clinical Advisory Committee helps ensure our work is informed by best practices and current trends in inter-professional practice, as well as meeting the needs of more rural-based communities and diverse populations. The Committee meets quarterly.
This is not a supervisory or governance body. If you have a trauma-informed care focus and carry a professional designation such as a registered social worker, psychologist, etc. and are familiar with family violence and abuse as part of your work, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for a diverse set of voices and perspectives, with preference given to 2SLGBTQ+ and Indigenous lenses as well as those with experience in programming for men and boys as it relates to family violence.
Casino Volunteers
As the recipient of casino funds, approximately every 18 months we are required to cover a significant number of volunteer shifts for a two-day casino that we are awarded.
Whether or not you are experienced as a casino volunteer, we’re happy to have your help. You do need to be 18 or over to sign up and have government issued picture ID.
All training and orientation is provided onsite when you volunteer for the casino, and a free meal is provided.
To learn more and to volunteer, please email tanya@saifsociety.ca.
Ways to Give
Our counselling programs are funded almost entirely by donors and charitable partners like you.
Your generous donation can make a meaningful difference. Together, we can create a brighter and more hopeful future for our community.
